Death Order Musical Chairs Event Guide

Use the preparation cue to find the seating area, then choose one clear chair from the current prompt and visible openings.

Table of contents

Musical Chairs begins with a preparation message, then becomes actionable when the round tells players to find a seat. Use the warning to locate the seating area, but let the current prompt decide when to commit to a chair.

QUICK ANSWER: Stay close enough to see several chairs. When the seat prompt appears, use the nearest clearly open chair instead of crossing the whole area for the same seat as the crowd.

Read the two-part cue

  1. Notice SIMON IS PREPARING MUSICAL CHAIRS.
  2. Keep the command area visible while the Event is set up.
  3. Identify the group of usable chairs.
  4. Wait for the prompt that tells players to find a seat.
  5. Move to one open chair and complete the seat interaction.

The preparation message identifies the next Event. It is not a reason to guess an exact music timer or assume the first chair you see will stay open.

Hold a useful position

Stand where more than one chair remains visible and reachable. The strongest position is not necessarily the closest point to the center; it is a place where another player cannot block every route at once.

Avoid these setup mistakes:

  • moving to a distant edge where every chair needs a long return;
  • hiding behind the crowd and losing sight of open seats;
  • fixing on one chair while a nearer option stays clear;
  • adding extra movement after your character has seated.

Keep the camera wide enough to compare nearby options without turning away from the prompt.

Commit to the nearest open chair

Once the seat prompt is active, choose a clear chair and finish the interaction. Changing targets repeatedly gives other players time to occupy both choices. If the closest chair becomes blocked, switch once to the next visible opening instead of circling the entire area.

Reach and use an open chair. Music duration, chair layout, and the safest side can change, so follow the current prompt and visible openings.

Use Events and Commands for the compact Musical Chairs card. Read How to Win for crowd and route discipline that applies across the match, or How to Play if the command sequence is still unfamiliar.
