Death Order Hide and Seek Event Guide

When the prompt says SIMON SAYS HIDE, move behind cover that blocks the seeker’s view. The next important message is THE SEEKER HAS BEEN RELEASED. By that point, staying in the open is the mistake to avoid.

QUICK ANSWER: Break line of sight before the release message. A low crouch in an exposed area is not the same as being hidden.

Read the Hide and Seek sequence

1. Confirm that the Hide order includes the full SIMON SAYS prefix.
2. Choose nearby cover instead of crossing the whole room for a crowded spot.
3. Move fully behind the cover.
4. Check that the open floor and main approach are no longer in front of you.
5. Stay away from the seeker after the release message.

Hide and keep your distance. Do not wait for another player to prove that a spot works.

Choose cover that blocks sight

Tables, walls, and prison structures can change what the seeker can see, but your position matters more than the object’s name. Use a spot where the cover sits between your character and the open approach.

Avoid these exposed positions:

• beside a table instead of behind it;
• crouched in the middle of an open floor;
• at the end of a long clear aisle;
• sharing a spot so crowded that players spill back into view.

The Event does not establish one universal hiding place. Use the nearest practical sightline break in the current room.

After the seeker is released

Do not leave cover just because the release message appeared. Keep space between your character and the seeker, and avoid crossing open ground without a clear reason. If the round presents another actionable cue, read that cue from the beginning before changing tasks.

Selection and duration can vary. The messages on the current screen decide the sequence instead of a fixed countdown.
