Death Order Armed Cameras Event Guide

Leave open lanes when the cameras arm, use walls or cell structures, and plan the next covered move before crossing.

Table of contents

The Armed Cameras Event turns the prison's security cameras into active hazards. When the announcement says that Simon armed the cameras, leave exposed lanes and move between solid cover.

QUICK ANSWER: Break the camera's line of sight with a wall or cell structure, then plan the next covered move. Do not remain in an open balcony, staircase, or center-floor lane.

React to the armed-camera cue

The important message is the Event announcement, not a normal movement order. Use it to change how you route through the prison:

  1. Locate the nearest solid wall, cell opening, or structural corner.
  2. Move out of the long open sightline.
  3. Keep the next piece of cover in view.
  4. Cross exposed space only when the route is clear.
  5. Continue checking every Simon Says prompt.

The cameras are placed around the prison, so hiding from one angle does not make every direction safe.

Choose cover that blocks sight

Useful cover sits between your character and the camera. A railing, another player, or a small decoration does not create the same sightline break as a wall or cell structure.

Good positions let you see an exit without placing your whole character in the open. Use the edge of a doorway or a cell wall, then move when the next command requires a different location.

Avoid these exposed routes:

  • the center of a floor with several camera angles;
  • a balcony edge with no nearby wall;
  • the middle of a staircase while deciding where to go;
  • a crowded doorway that prevents a quick retreat.

Move from cover to cover

Do not sprint across the whole prison because one camera fired. Pick one short movement that ends behind another solid structure. Short covered moves give you time to read the command bar and prevent a panic route from becoming a second mistake.

If your current cover becomes crowded, leave through the clearest side before other players block it. The crowd can also draw your attention away from a different camera angle.

Keep the prefix rule active

The Armed Cameras Event does not replace Simon's orders. A valid location or action command still needs to be completed. Read the full line, then choose a route that satisfies the command while minimizing exposed time.

Do not jump, crouch, or change floors only because nearby players do it. The camera hazard and the prefix check are separate decisions.

Common camera mistakes

  • Freezing in the open: stop only after reaching a real sightline break.
  • Watching one camera: another angle can cover the route ahead.
  • Using the crowd as cover: players move and can block your exit.
  • Crossing too much space: choose the next safe structure, not the farthest room.
  • Ignoring the command bar: a correct hiding route can still fail the next order.
