How to Play and Win Death Order: Simon Says
Read the whole command, move only on the full prefix, recognize event transitions, and preserve your position for the final survivors.

Table of contents
The round is built around one decision: does the full prompt begin with “Simon Says”? If it does, complete the named action. If it does not, treat it as a trap—even when the action looks familiar or other players start moving.
The four-step command check
- Read the full prompt. Do not react to the last word first.
- Find the prefix. Look for the exact words
SIMON SAYSat the start. - Complete only the named action. A valid location order tells you where to go; a valid action order tells you what to do.
- Stop when the action is complete. Extra movement can turn a correct response into a mistake when the next order appears.
The dangerous version is often almost identical:
| Prompt shape | Response |
|---|---|
SIMON SAYS GO TO BED |
Go to a bed |
GO TO BED |
Do not follow it |
SIMON SAYS DON'T MOVE |
Release movement controls |
DON'T MOVE |
The missing prefix means it is not a Simon order |
What happens after you join
Enter the official experience and wait for the current match flow to place you in the prison round. Once prompts begin, keep the command bar in view. Rounds mix direct orders—such as moving to the cafeteria, basement, second floor, a bed, a table, or a marked line—with prepared Events that temporarily change the task.
Your objective is not to complete a build or collect a resource route. It is to stay alive while the field gets smaller and become the last player standing.
Learn the prison before you need it
Location orders punish hesitation. Between prompts, identify:
- the closest stairway to the second floor;
- an entrance to the cafeteria;
- the route down to the basement;
- nearby cells, beds, tables, seats, and marked floor lines.

A familiar route matters most when the prompt adds a last-arrival condition. Choose the closest clear path instead of following the largest group.
How prepared Events change the round
A preparation message signals that the next task may use a different arena or rule. Examples include Obby, Hide and Seek, Musical Chairs, and Duel. Read the preparation message, then wait for the actionable cue.
- Obby: line up short jumps and finish the course; one variation removes the last finisher.
- Hide and Seek: use cover before the seeker is released.
- Musical Chairs: stay close enough to reach an open seat when prompted.
- Duel: selected players receive a combat objective instead of a normal location order.

Movement habits that preserve a run
Keep the camera useful
Face the likely route while waiting, but avoid accidental character movement. For a “Don’t Move” order, release movement input completely.
Use the nearest valid target
A nearer table, bed, chair, stairway, or pool is usually safer than crossing the prison toward the crowd. Route efficiency matters more than following the largest group.
Separate reading from reacting
Other players can move on a trap. Treat their feet as noise until you have read the prefix yourself.
Expect a repeated trap
The game can show a valid order and later repeat the same action without “Simon Says.” Repetition does not make the second prompt valid.
Combat and the final survivors
Some rounds assign weapons or direct players into a fight. The enabled First Blood badge specifically recognizes an elimination made with a knife, gun, or push kill. If you are not selected or armed, keep following the active round instructions instead of chasing combat.
As the group shrinks, protect the same fundamentals: read first, take the shortest safe route, and avoid adding movement after the order is complete. Reaching the final three unlocks the Finalist badge; surviving the match to the declared win unlocks First Win.
Beginner checklist
- Read the first two words before every action.
- Ignore unprefixed repeats, even if the crowd moves.
- Keep one route to each main prison level in mind.
- Center on marked targets instead of stopping beside them.
- During Events, solve the Event task without forgetting the prefix rule.
- Do not hunt NPCs while an active command can eliminate you.
- When only a few players remain, favor clean inputs over risky shortcuts.
