Death Order Killer and Necromancer Events

Use clear stairs and solid cover, avoid the crowd, and keep another exit ready when either hostile NPC is released.

Table of contents

The Killer and Necromancer are hostile NPC Events, not badge conversations. When either release message appears, create space, break the enemy's route to you, and keep following valid Simon Says commands.

QUICK ANSWER: Change levels through a clear stair route, avoid the crowd, and keep a wall or cell structure between you and the hostile NPC. Move again before a blocked hiding spot becomes a trap.

Read which NPC was released

The release cue tells you which threat entered the prison:

  • Killer: closes distance and attacks players at close range.
  • Necromancer: also pursues players and can create a green area threat.

Both Events reward distance and route awareness, but the Necromancer adds a reason to leave a marked area instead of holding the same corner.

Use a level change

The prison's stairs give you more than one escape direction. Before the NPC reaches your floor:

  1. Identify the nearest open stairs or ladder route.
  2. Check that a crowd is not blocking the landing.
  3. Change level while the route is still clear.
  4. Turn the camera back toward the approach.
  5. Choose another exit before the NPC closes the gap.

The basement can reduce the first wave of pressure when the hostile NPC is on an upper floor, but it is not a permanent safe zone. Stay close enough to an exit that you can move again.

Survive the Killer

Do not try to test the Killer's reach. Use walls, cell entrances, and floor changes to make the pursuit turn corners.

  • Avoid long open lanes when a side route is available.
  • Do not stand behind a group that can block your escape.
  • Do not return toward the Killer just because another player ran past it.
  • Keep enough camera space to see the next turn and the command bar.

If the Killer changes targets, use that opening to increase distance instead of following the chase.

Survive the Necromancer

Treat the green area as an immediate position warning. Move outside it using the nearest clear edge, then continue widening the gap from the Necromancer.

Do not cross the center of the marked area when a shorter exit is available. After leaving it, keep moving toward cover rather than stopping directly on the boundary.

Commands still decide your inputs

A hostile NPC can create panic while Simon continues issuing orders. Read the full prompt before jumping, crouching, or changing floors. If a location order is valid, choose a route that completes it without running directly through the NPC or its marked area.

Use Hide and Seek for more line-of-sight habits, and keep the Events and Commands reference open for the normal action prompts.
