Death Order Duel Event Guide

Selected players face one armed opponent; everyone else should stay clear and keep following the active round.

Table of contents

A Duel changes the round from a normal location order into a selected combat assignment. Two players are chosen and armed. If you are selected, the task is to defeat the opposing selected player. If you are not selected, keep clear of the fight and continue reading the active round.

QUICK ANSWER: Check whether the selection includes you before treating the weapon phase as your task.

Confirm your Duel role

Use the selection and weapon state together:

  1. Watch for the Duel setup and selected players.
  2. Confirm whether your character receives the combat assignment.
  3. If selected, identify the opposing selected player.
  4. If not selected, move away from the combat area instead of chasing it.
  5. Read the next prompt from the beginning when the Duel ends.

A weapon visible elsewhere in the arena does not turn every player into a Duel participant.

If you are selected

Use controlled movement and available cover while keeping the assigned opponent in view. The objective is the opposing selected player, not the whole server.

  • avoid standing still in an open lane;
  • avoid running so far that you lose the opponent and the prompt;
  • keep movement deliberate enough to aim and reposition;
  • stay focused on the assigned fight until the round changes.

Weapons and arena layouts can differ between Duels. Follow the assignment shown in the current round instead of assuming a pistol, damage value, or fixed spawn point.

If you are not selected

Create distance from the selected players. Do not enter the marked fight to copy their movement, and do not treat combat as permission to ignore the next Simon prompt.

This is also the safer time to keep the command bar centered: the next normal order can arrive after attention has shifted toward the Duel.

Combat badge connection

The First Blood badge names knife, gun, or push eliminations. Check the current requirement before turning a combat assignment into a badge goal; this guide does not claim that every Duel weapon or result is identical.

See the exact current badge wording in Badges. Use Events and Commands for the compact Duel card, and How to Win for broader late-round combat discipline.
